The CEGIN project aims to upgrade the college’s teaching facilities to enable learners in peripheral areas to gain flexible access to learning opportunities in the Catering and Hospitality sector at a very local level. CEGIN will use technology and innovative learning methods to enable learners to combine work based learning with learning in a college environment, by giving them access to state of the art equipment and best practice and innovative technology. CEGIN will enable learners to access a range of courses tailored to meet the needs of local SMEs. The project will build on the successes of the former ESF Meirionnydd Chefs Project, which was a direct response to skill shortages and training needs of SMEs in the sector. The project will aim to raise the profile of the industry by providing a showcase for skills development in the industry and strong partnerships with industry.
