Livestock Production NVQ 1 and 2
This course is suitable for adults or school leavers interested in learning more about husbandry and management.

Course duration:
1 day a week for 1 year (varies).

What will I need to follow the course?
No formal qualifications are required to follow this course but an interest in and/or experience of animal husbandry and management is essential. You will be expected to undertake work or work experience for 3 or 4 days a week.

What will I study?
You will study each of the units listed below. Mandatory units: • Moving agricultural goods around the farm. • Health and safety at work. • Collaborative skills. • Animal care and health. • Communication and record keeping. A range of optional units will be available.

Will I have to sit any examinations?
There will be no examinations but you will be assessed continuously during the course.

What will I have at the end of the course?
On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an NVQ 1 or 2 in Livestock Production.

What next?
Having completed NVQ 2 you will be able to enrol on a full-time course at the College, or seek employment in land-based industries.
