NVQ in Forestry, Countryside Management and Game-keeping The NVQ Forestry and Countryside Management courses include modules in tree planting, management following planting, using machinery, drainage, using herbicide and using a chainsaw.
These courses are part-time courses which allow students to train, assess and gain skills while working within the industry. It is a practical course aimed at developing a wide range of skills and knowledge which are required by the industry. The NVQ Game-keeping course includes maintenance of game, vermin management and trespassing.

1-2 years based on one day per week

What will I need to follow the course?
Dependant on the course level. If you are applying straight from school, the following are expected:
* 2 GCSE grade D-G for the Level 1 course
* 4 GCSE grade D-G for the Level 2 course
The following is also taken into account: experience, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

What will I study?
Gamekeeping qualifications allow assistant gamekeepers to become accredited in a wide variety of areas, including the maintenance of game and the prevention of trespass and poaching.
A range of optional units will be available.
Will I have to sit any examinations?
There will be no examinations but you will be assessed continuously during the course.
